Default Kookie Monster EG

Mmm numm numm numm

After driving a VW GTI for 6 years, I wanted to get back into the Honda scene. I debated starting with a shell but decided to get something that I could drive while I saved up for the engine I wanted. So I purchased this EG in November 08...

My plan was to focus on the engine first but I couldn't deal with the multi color paint job so painted it within weeks of buying....

Much better, right?

Now on to the engine. My initial thought was to go with a LS vtec because of the b18A1 that is already in the car.

Being out of the Honda game for a while, I was only thinking about the B's but I came accross k20a.org and realized the potential of the K's. After far too much research (according to my gf) I found this....for $500! It's a K24A1. Original plan was to do a K24A2 but couldn't pass up the deal.

Decided to go with a TSX intake manifold, here it is next to the A1 manifold that came with the engine to compare

Intake installed. Had to cut and grind the crap out of this thing for it to fit and to clear tensioner assembly

Here it is installed on the engine

Now I'm just working on getting all of the parts I need. Here is what I've got so far (all from Hybrid)

(beautiful - although a little bit of a rough weld )

Also ordered the axels and mounts. I wanted the black mounts and as you can see that's not what I got. Also, got 2 passenger side axels so had to send one back. It's been about 2 weeks since I sent the parts back so hoping to get the right stuff soon! Shifter box, mounts & axel are all that's missing.

Fuel rail and Marshall fuel pressure guage from k-tuned installed

Most recent purchase is a transmission. Its an Ep3 with about 35K on it.

Soon as Hybrid gets me the rest of my parts that I'm waiting on it will be going in!!!!!!!!! The next challenge will be getting it started

You should have the mounts soon!

Everything is looking great, keep the updates coming when you can!

Dying out here in this Az heat with no A/C, was gonna do it on the B but decided to do the swap first, now regreting that since 115F is about the norm here the past 2 weeks

All for now Thx for looking

Got my shifter in today; just the way I like it nice and tight

Now just need my mounts to show up and can drop her in
Any word on that
Oh and speaking of actually putting it in the car, anyone know what the best engine harness to use if im just keeping it stock(K24A1) for the time being? The auto harness that came with it has way to many free plugs and none will plug into the ep3 trans...?

K20A3 or K20A2 (2002-2004) are the best engine harnesses to use!
